This dub sometimes uses Nickelodeon USA TV rips.As with all Persian dubs of the series (with the exception of the MBC Persia dub and the IRIB TV2 dub), this dub is illegal and produced without permission from Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS and is still on the air.There is an unauthorized bootleg movie titled SpongeBob in Tehran that was released around 2017.Screenshot of the movie SpongeBob in Tehran. There even exists some episodes where Sandy's bikini top is removed altogether.Sandy's indoor wear and the Bikini Bottom townsfolk's bikinis are also replaced with regular dresses and clothing, or often zoomed in on the face or other minor characters, or blurring the bikinis.The name of the setting of the show, Bikini Bottom, was often censored in the IRIB airings, as it was considered offensive but the DVD releases retained the name, and for the first film, it was dubbed to Mayoe-kenar (مایوکنار).The one on the left is the original dub, the one on the right is the Persian dub. Most of the male characters are voiced by one person: Mohammad Reza Solati. Tehran Taxi is Jafar Panahi’s third film since he was banned from filmmaking by the Iranian government, and while it’s lightly mischievous and cheekily self-reflexive, it amounts to an eff you.The image of Squidward on the logo from the DVDs of this dub is reused from the Tide and Seek DVD and VHS covers (and the old Italian theme song logo).Red Mist Squidward from " SpongeBob in RandomLand" is kept intact in this dub.This censorship was ordered by the Iranian Government ( due to most likely violating Islamic Law.) There most likely is more censorship featured we know nothing about. This is due to her outfit being "Too revealing". Instead of being shown wearing her bikini in Episodes such as " Prehibernation Week", she is featured wearing a Purple Dress (Images featured below). A well-known example is Sandy's character design featured within the Dub. There is also censorship featured within select episodes. Most of the songs used in the episodes are mostly replaced with Persian music, and the music and effects of the episodes are either from the English dub or completely custom instrumentals, an example being in the intro. The episodes of the show have many differences in them across the multiple versions.
